In order to provide social security benefits to eligible families of the State, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal launched “Mukhyamantri Parivar Samridhi Yojna” here today.

  • Chandigarh February 7: In order to provide social security benefits to eligible families of the State, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal launched “Mukhyamantri Parivar Samridhi Yojna” here today. Under this scheme, annual financial assistance of Rs 6000 will be provided to those families in the State whose annual income is upto Rs 1.80 lakh and land holding is less than 5 acres so that premium of various welfare schemes of the Central Government, pension scheme and crop insurance could be paid automatically from the bank accounts of the needy families. 
  •            Mr Manohar Lal who was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Mr Dushyant Chautala launched the scheme while addressing a press conference on the completion of 100 successful days of the present State Government here today. The Chief Minister also transferred the amount under the scheme to five beneficiaries present on the occasion through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
  •            The Chief Minister said that Parivar Pehchan Patra is necessary to avail benefit under this scheme. He said that amount would be transferred into the bank accounts of  these families  in two equal installments of Rs 2000 each, (total of Rs 4000) today while the third installment of Rs 2000 would be transferred in the month of March.
  •            He said that the families having annual income upto Rs 1.80 lakh and land holding of less than 5 acres are eligible under this scheme and would also come under the definition of BPL. He said that a budgetary provision of Rs 1500 crore had already been made under this scheme last year. For next financial year, separate provision of budget would be made, he added.
  •            He said that premium of various welfare schemes of the government which are being given to the beneficiaries family out of the financial assistance of Rs 6000 included Pradhanmantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojna, Pradhanmantri Jeevan Suraksha Bima Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Mandhan Yojna, Pradhanmantri Shram Yogi Mandhan Yojna and Pradhanmantri Laghu Vyapari Mandhan Yojna and Pradhanmantri Fasal Bima Yojna. For remaining amount, the beneficiary could either opt for Provident Fund or get cash payment.         
  •            Among those present on this occasion included Power Minister Mr Ranjit Singh, Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr. Anoop Dhanak, Chief Secretary, Mrs. Keshni Anand Arora, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr Rajesh Khullar, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr V. Umashankar, Additional Chief Secretary Finance and Planning Departments Mr T.V.S.N Prasad, Director, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department Mr P.C. Meena and other senior officers of the State Government.
